Design & Build

Bath

Acquiring a site in the World Heritage City of Bath, fits entirely into the portfolio that Hallmark are creating for developing some of the best homes in the country in the best locations.

The use of natural materials was an important part of the discussions with the planners on this site, and we will be using lime render, limestone rubble and natural slates for the finishes along with aluminium windows and stone detailing. There is a roof garden on the third floor for the use of all residents, accessed from a summer/winter orangery, and plenty of communal space throughout the building to provide options for dining, activities and quiet spaces for contemplation and relaxation.

This project took a year to go through planning, but such was the support at the end that the matter was approved under delegated powers by the planners. Dealing with Greater Crested Newts, and other flora and fauna, gave its challenges but nothing that the technical team hadn’t come across before.

We are constructing this home as a part two and part three storey building in concrete frame with a basement under one end to provide the back of house facilities.
