Hallmark Care Homes opens new £12m Essex home and our second project virtually!

Avnish Goyal and Ram Goyal

Our sister company, Hallmark Care Homes opened its new £12m care home and our second project, Hutton View, in Essex using technology believed to be the first virtual opening of a care home due to the current restrictions.

This live stream was made with support from an external specialist broadcast company and was hosted by Hallmark Care Homes Chair and CEO of Savista Developments, Avnish Goyal.

During the special event, guests were invited to hear about the vision of how the home was created, participate in a panel discussion with Hallmark’s dementia and relationship centred care experts and take a virtual tour of the 77-bed home’s state-of-the-art facilities.

These have been designed and fitted out to support Hallmark’s commitment to delivering relationship-centred care and include facilities such as a luxurious hair salon, therapy room, a welcoming café complete with its own aquarium, connected to a distinctive bar, large screen cinema and surround sound complete with a starlight ceiling, and a music room with a baby grand piano, vinyl record player and LPs and selection of musical instruments.

Other design innovations included; an indoor COVID safe visiting area with a glass partition, well-stocked library and games room, a top floor activities room with a second bar and large outdoor terrace. The home also boasts a farmhouse kitchen and further activity area with prompts which use the Montessori approach to support people living with dementia.

Meanwhile outside there are numerous areas which encourage residents to get fresh air all year round and support the company’s Together Dementia Strategy. This includes five outdoor terraces on all the upper floors.  The spacious landscaped gardens are also designed to create the ultimate outdoor experience for residents at Hutton View with a putting green, aviary, summer house with a kitchen and WC, greenhouse and gardening club area, and even a gazebo.

Around 300 local businesses and care professionals logged on to hear from Avnish Goyal and Hallmark’s Managing Director Ram Goyal as well as witness the all-important ribbon cutting ceremony to formally open the home.

During the event guests were also encouraged to tweet in their questions, thoughts and comments with £5 donated to Hutton Community Centre for every tweet received using the hashtag #HuttonViewLaunch. Hallmark then generously raised this to £5,000 to support the community centre’s plans to refurbish the kitchen and social areas by spring 2021.

CEO of Savista Developments and Chair of Hallmark Care Homes, Avnish Goyal said: “We are delighted to have completed our second Savista project to the highest standards, incorporating the latest technology and ideas not only from the sector but from our teams and our recent innovation challenge.
